Mark Bright is a Technical Communication Manager and Marketing Specialist for Ateb, Inc., a pharmacy software company in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is a 1995 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received a Master of Science in Technical Communication degree from North Carolina State University in 2004.
Entertainment
Mark was an active member of marching band and theater, playing the alto saxophone and landing roles in plays such as Once Upon a Mattress, Anything Goes, Sweeney Todd, Cabaret, and Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. While filming a movie called My Teachers Wife on the UNC campus, he met Presley, his wife of five years. Mark and Presley were both cast as extras in the film, but sadly, their scenes were cut from the final straight-to-video masterpiece. Mark and Presley continue their activities in performance and credit their mutual interest in the television series Twin Peaks as one of the factors that brought them together.
During his junior and senior year at UNC, Mark was a Resident Advisor and Assistant Tower Manager at Granville Towers. His glamorous responsibilities included cleaning vomit out of elevators and trying to convince students that throwing a bed off a fifth floor balcony was not a good idea.
Career
After graduation, Mark began work in the telecommunications industry. He was a customer service representative for GTE wireless for two years and then was hired as a marketing representative and corporate trainer for ReadyCom, a small voice-paging startup in Chapel Hill. While at ReadyCom, he traveled and provided training to representatives in Santiago, Chile, Puerto Rico, New Orleans, and regions of North Carolina. In 2000, he was hired as a technical communication specialist for Ateb, Inc.
Activities
Mark enjoys swimming, running, and racquetball. He also enjoys his work as a First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguard Instructor for the American Red Cross.
